Father's Day News

I'll keep it short, because we are going to my mom's right now as Gary has just returned home : ) We just got back from the hospital, we spent a lot of time with the nurses and doctors, and of course Aviana. Things are looking pretty good!!!!! She is pretty stable and UC Davis seems to be very positive and in good spirits. He assured us he would be completely honest with us, and if things were looking bad he would be sure to let us know.

We are a very long way away, but we are so happy and feel so blessed by everything that was said about her condition at this point. He still said there will be a lot of ups and downs along the way, but that is expected with every case. She will be in the hospital for months and it is unknown when she will be released from the induced coma....it could be the middle of next week, it could be two weeks, it could be longer.

Every child is different and he said she will let us know when she is ready. I am sorry to be so short, but we are excited to go see Gary and then my mom, Dave and I will be going back to Davis to visit some more!

  4. Thats wonderful to hear. Im so glad there are people who are good at helping others, we are all truely blessed to have doctors and nurses and people who will drop everything to run to the aid of someone in need. I hope Gary can heal well from this, as well as the rest of you, sadness and worry can be so painful and draining. I hope it brings you some peace to hear the doctors positive words. I wish you all a happy fathers day, your family is very loved. Hang in there. Love and Light, HK

  16. This is great news -- so happy that you have this hope now. I'm sure she will come out of the coma sooner rather than later.

Jenn, I got your post tonight on my blog, but it was the first one I've seen so if you wrote another one prior to that, I didn't receive it. For some reason my computer glitches and logs me out whenever I come to your blog site -- it drives me crazy that it does that, but I do manage to check in and read each post you do, but whenever I try to read the comments of leave a comment, it logs me out and I actually have to restart my computer because it locks my computer up! So strange! Anyway, I am thinking of you and praying for you. Thank you for your note to me on my blog - such nice things you said, and I am here for you if you need a friend in the Brain Injury World. Back when it happened to our little girl, I was so alone in this journey. I had no one who knew what I was going through, what I was feeling... so please count me in as a friend to you when you need it the most. Email me at mommy9times@aol.com. I think I will get your emails better than communicating on a blog, just because of the glitching my computer seems to be doing with your blog.

Love to you, you are in my prayers.

  18. hey you two, finally got the hardwood floors done
and the furniture moved back and the computer up and going again. it took a minute to find the blog after setting up an account, but here we are. as you know, all of the Rader family is reaching out to the beautiful family that you
are blessed with, with hopes and prayers that all will be well. just know in your hearts that
whatever can be done , will be done with the utmost urgency and care by the doctors and the entire PICU facility. again all our love and respect and prayers
