Aviana's Peeps

All I can do to consume myself is try and get in contact with anyone who knew her or knew of her. I feel she needs EVERYONES support in ANY way possible. I have been taking her to the gym with me since she was 11 months old. They know and love her so much there. She even went to about 3-4 months of preschool there. From day one, Aviana has walked in like she owns the place. Whether it was the front door, the door to the child care room or the preschool door. She walked right through and was ALWAYS happy to be there.

Although she never talked much, her presence was always known and loved. This was one of the most difficult calls for me to make and I was thankful Natasha was not there at the time of my call. I was able to get her e-mail address and let them know. If I heard her voice, I would have lost it right there. I was crying before I made the call and while typing her e-mail. The thought of how much Aviana enjoyed being there broke me!!

I am going slightly crazy and I know it. Aviana's two favorite musicians are Gary Allan and Butch Walker. She can hear one single note and know. I have NO idea where she got this from : ) Suddenly, I thought it a GREAT idea to write to them and ask for their thoughts and prayers.

Sounded like a good idea!! Oprah is next....if I could write Mickey Mouse...I would!!! Like I said...slightly loopy, but just going CRAZY without her : (

P.S. Natasha, thank you so much for your e-mail!! I know all of you are pulling for her.

  1. Please let me know if there is anyway I can help to organize any of these things for her. I have ways and people I know that would love to help out, especially under these circumstance.

  2. Jen: When reading your story, I felt like you were talking about Maya. Guatemala girls are strong and independent and are survivors. Hold on to that. She will walk into her "preschool" again.

  3. Just know you have a huge adopted family thru Richard now pulling for all of you. I know in my heart of hearts that Aviana has that inner strength, given by you, her mother and father, to pull thru this. She is just taking time now to rest her little body so she can come out of it fighting. Just keep the faith, and don't ever feel alone!
    Many blessings your way..

  7. Hi Jen! My name is Diane Clements and I was teacher Debby's aide on Wednesday's at My First Preschool and I remember little Aviana was in our class! I remember every time she came in she was so sweet :) She didn't say much and was a little shy until I would ask her if she would like to do the project with me and she always smiled and shook her head yes :) My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. If there is anything I can do, please don't hesitate to ask!

  10. Jen & Dave,
I found this blog from Sarah @ KisstheFrog4Me. I immediately read your entire blog, and this has reached deep inside me and grabbed my soul. I wish there was something I could do for you, but there is no comfort I could offer that would last. I will be praying for your sweet Aviana and for you both. Just know when it all is starting to get too much, that I pray for you to be able to dump it all on God! (That is a phrase I learned from my friend who went through a terrible time. She learned she could not bear it, and had to "dump" the unbearable on Him.) I love the fact you opened her door. For some reason, that really stood out to me. Always show faith, and that is faith. Love and prayers, Lisa @ ourlifewithdylan.blogspot.com

  12. Jen and Dave-We do not know eachother but we are connected in many ways.I cannot express my sadness about your situation and I really can't come up with words that will ease your pain. I hope it helps just a little to know that a perfect stranger out here in blog world is pulling for Aviana and your family. We work so hard to get to our babies and to have anything happen to them is so heart breaking. I am sure that she feels your love surrounding her and she is fighting as hard as she can-you do the same! Stay strong!

  14. Jen and Dave...It's Lisa, Marco's mom from the gym... We are sending lots of prayers Avi's way. I told Marco that "Avi has a really big ouchie and we need to think of her lots so that she can get better"...he told me not to worry that she will be better "in a while" and I believe him...I loved running around the gym with the kids and I did it often because Marco never wanted to leave..Aviana is a beautiful little girl and my family and friends are praying for your family and Aviana...thank you for posting...it is hard but a good way for you to share and express...Stay strong and positive...she feels that around her! You are an amazing mom...Take Care..
