I have the best, most supportive, husband a girl could ever ask for. Because of him, I am fortunate enough to have been able to stay at home with Aviana since day one. Ever since she could put words together this is what I hear ALL DAY LONG... Avi do it.
Our entire day proceeds in this fashion. Avi does everything. Even before she could talk, every action was her saying, "Avi do it." She is the most fiercely independent little girl I have ever encountered. She has always wanted to learn, and try everything for herself! If we try to help her, she gets this look in her eye and we know we should back off if we know what's good for us.
She grabs whatever it is Dave or I may have and works it until it works for her. She will not let us do anything. She has the strongest will ever, and everyone who has ever come across her knows she is a fighter. She is rough and tumble and we are more than confidant if anyone can pull through, it will be her. She will go down fighting tooth and nail. She's scrappy I tell you!
We call her our little spitfire. After we say it, she yells "Spitfire!" At such a tender, young age she knows exactly who she is, and what she is capable of. We do find comfort in this fact, and all we can say is....Baby, bring it all out NOW! Now is the time....AVI DO IT!

Jen and Dave,
ReplyDeleteThere are no words to adequately express the sympathy we feel for you and your family during this extremely difficult time. We just want you to know that we love you, and we are praying for Aviana, you, your family, and the doctors and nurses in whose hands Aviana finds herself. Our hearts are with you, as we envision the day when your healthy little girl is once again at home in your loving arms.
May God's peace engulf you,
Christie, Dave, and Dylan Z
Jen, You are right Avi is one scrappy spitfire. It is such as endearing quality. One that makes me smile when I think of her. This quality is what will save her life and bring her home. You are also one strong mama and she is lucky to have you for her mommy. I am here if you need to talk or need me in any way. I also live near your mom and if you need someone to check on them I am here for that too. I look forward to seeing your little girl when she is strong enough. Many many people are praying for your family!
ReplyDeleteJen, I'm a Guatmom (and live in Sac) and Sarah Delap told me today about your sweet little Avi. I am sending up prayers that your angel will be okay and also for your father's recovery. If you need ANYTHING, Sarah knows how to reach me by phone or email. I am at UC Davis Med Center almost daily between my mom and daughter's frequent visits and would be happy to sit with Avi once she can have visitors or if you or your husband need food or anything, please don't hesitate to call on me. Love, Veronica
ReplyDeleteJen: We are keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers and I think you are right, Little Avi is strong and her fighting spirit will not give up easily. Our little Guatgirls are survivors. Please let me know if there is every anything we can do for you or Avi.

Hmm Jen~
ReplyDeleteThis sounds familiar. It sounds like aunt Dinah & Avi have something in common. My mom has said time & again growing up my motto was ~I'll do it Myself~ Ask Sean today & he'll tell you it still is. A little Minnie Me after my own Heart. She's a toughie & has a strong will, that will get her far. Our thoughts & Prayers are with you all. And I can't wait to see her when she's stronger. Looking forward to having that little hand grab mine & lead me....In the not so distant future :)
Love, Dinah & Sean
I am praying for your little girl and for your family to have strength during this time. You can do it, Avi!!!
