Mickey Mouse Just Knows......

We went to visit our little pumpkin tonight and she not only had her beloved Lamby, but Mickey Mouse was in her other hand. I was so confused.

I asked the nurse....who brought in Mickey Mouse???? She said, "maybe Mickey brought it to her" (with a big grin on her face.) She then brought a picture over to me,(which I left for Aviana)it was lifesize Mickey and Minnie, right by her bedside. Brings big tears to my eyes just thinking about it now. This single act made my ENTIRE day and I know it would have made hers too.

Can you believe it....I didn't even have to send him a letter!! Maybe THAT is why their ears are so big....to hear all of the children, even when they are unable to speak ; )

Thanks Erin...for visiting and having your camera handy!

  5. Jen, I am your mom and stepfathers neighbor in Lincoln. I just recently found out about this devestating accident. I have met your daughter a few times, but saw her so many times just "hanging out" with her Nana and Papa. It is such an incredible bond that I saw between the three of them. I visited Brenda and Gary on Friday...basically I don't have any words to express how much I wish all of you did not have to go through any of this. But I did see an amazingly, beautiful strength in your mom. I have been reading this blogg since your mom emailed it to me. You too have that amazing, beautiful strength. Even at the times you probably think you don't have anymore strength. That is what Aviana needs. You can't fix her body, only time will do that. But your strength, faith, and hope is what Aviana needs. My niece was close to death. The Dr's did not think she was going to make it. They transfered her to UC Davis Med Center. This was last Nov. She is a healthy teenager now. I mean this with all my heart...Aviana is being taken care of by the best of the best. UCD Dr and nurses are angels on earth. You are doing all the right things. You are not alone, there are obviously many people who's shoulders are there for you to place this enourmous pain on. Please take care and I am going to keep my eye on your mom and Gary. My family and friends are praying for Aviana and all of you. God Bless!

I have been trying to write to you but I am not very good at this blogging. I wrote to you on Thursday, the day I learned of the accident from Natasha. This is Debby, Aviana's predchool teacher. I am so saddened to learn about the accident. My heart pours out to you and your family and especially to our sweet little Avianna. I just keep seeing her facing smiling at me. She always had a smile on her face during class. i hope I can see her soon. My family wants to help in any way we can.

  10. Actually Jen my heart is aching for your family. We are praying for Aviana and have set up a pray network. We want to help you in other ways to. You probably are not in a situation where you can work right now,do you normal tasks. We want to do some fundraising to help you and Dave and Aviana out during this difficult time. Please allow us to do so. My granddaughters Ryann and Emma were in Avi's class, the children want to help out to.

  12. I don't know you, but I heard of your sweet baby girl's accident through a friend of a friend and have found it hard to think of anything throughout the day other than your Avianna and how she's doing. My sons are everything to me and I can't fathom what you and your family must be going through. I just wanted to let you know that we're praying for you daily and can't wait until we read that Avi is healed and ready to come home with her family! Please remember to take care of yourselves too, as hard as it sometimes may seem.

  13. Hello,
I found your blog from your friend Sarah. We are also a Heartsent family. I can't imagine what you're going through right now, but I pray that the love around you is bringing you comfort during this difficult time. May He guide the hands of those caring for Aviana, and He certainly helped Mickey and Minnie find their way to your beautiful little girl.

Praying for your little Aviana and for your entire family.

    Blessings,
    Tiffanie

  19. I am just an ICU RN that heard about your story through my husband who also works in a hospital, he read the short story in the paper and from there found your blog. I read your blog regularly and pray often for your family, that Jesus give you and your beautiful family peace. We too, have a toddler and I can only imagine the daily strugle and depth of emotions you walk through daily. We pray that Jesus bless you with his ever lasting grace, rest and strength. This Mickey shot brought us to a smile, I can only pray and hope that this story has a disney ending, living happy ever after.
