Take My Breath Away

I thought Aviana looked beautiful yesterday. Today she took my breath away! She was so peaceful. She looked like a little flower. She was very sleepy, but when awake she would open her eyes really big at times. It was so nice to see my sweet little brown eyed girl.

I talked to her so much today, I must have told her at least one hundred times how much I love her and how proud of her I am. She must be very special because I gave her a really long foot massage. Normally, I don’t like getting or giving massages :o) She loved it! She would look at me, then her eyes would dart around in excitement and then they would once again return to me!

They will be moving her out of the PICU and into the regular Pediatrics Department tonight or tomorrow.

This girl is movin’ on up!!

  1. She looks so beautiful, and so comfy. She's moving along and healing so well. It has got to feel good to be able to move around a little more without the tubes. We'd love to come by to see you all after she gets settled into her new room. I have to say the new picture made me cry a few happy tears.

Go Avi! You're such a strong girl!

  8. Fabulous news! So glad you two could have such a special time of connection. It's great she is moving out of the PICU. It will be a bit of a change for you as there won't be nurses around nearly as much as you are used to. (you may already know this) It's a good thing tho as it's a step in the right direction. :)
    Cheering for you in Seattle!

  10. Jen, I have wondered now, when will you be able to hold her? Do you think now that she is off her tubes you will be able to hold her soon? I cannot imagine how badly you want to hold her in your arms..
    Bless you,
    The Merenda family..

  16. That is great news!!!! We will keep praying for Aviana and your family!

(BTW, spend a few minutes massaging Aviana's big toes which will directly stimulate her brain, according to the foot massage "map" that I have.)
