Random Acts of Kindness

For almost the first time, I am speechless on a topic. I belong to a gym which I have always felt is a mini family. I have been going there for the past 10 years with a 2 year break to a different gym in the middle.

While at the new gym, I never quite felt the same vibe as my old one. Soon after Aviana's arrival, I decided the two of us would return to my old gym. I believe she was about 12-13 months when we started going there. They, of course, took her in like family. I NEVER worried about her and knew she was in the best of hands. In the past month, she would wake up (with her cute little nappy head) and say, "Mommy, go gym!" She knew her routine and loved it.

On January 28th, she began her first day of preschool at this same gym. She would go one day a week for two hours. This is where we met Ms. Debby. Aviana had so much fun in preschool and was so proud of her many creations. One day she made something that was like a shaker/rattle type thing. I shook it and would say Aviana say, "Come on, shake, shake it." She learned that saying within a few minutes and I have to say, this is one of my best memories with her. Her little voice sounded so cute as she would say those words!

Letting the gym know of the accident was one of the hardest calls for me to make as they were SO close to her. Once I called, it was crazy...they jumped at the chance to help us. They organized a benefit yard sale and selflessly gave up their ENTIRE holiday weekend. They called a local country station and dedicated a Gary Allan song in honor of Aviana. They even contacted Good Day Sacramento and had them come out and raise awareness of our story.

The yard sale was going so well so they decided to extend it another day. We stopped by yesterday to see them all and thank them so very much. I could not and still cannot formulate the right words as to how we feel about them. I want to thank Ms. Debby, Natasha, Jillian, Jennifer and all others who had anything to do with this event. I also want to thank all of the people who stopped by to donate.

Today, I will be reading a book which was dropped off called "Christmas Jars." It is about miracles : ) Well, I guess I was not as speechless as I originally thought ; )

  2. To Aviana, Jenn and Dave,

Thank you for letting us help. It was the best 4th of July I could have ever had. The way it filled my heart to be able to do something to help a little girl who I feel in love with. We still have people calling and wanting to help. We want to continue to help in any way we can. I know you know we are here for you and always will be. Please give Avi a kiss on her cheek for me and I will see you soon. Your family is in my heart and in my prayers. Gosh, I am getting all teared up. Thank you for coming by yesterday so Jillian, Jennifer, Jeremy and Jacqui could meet you.

    Love Debby
