So At Last

There will be much more to come on Aviana, and our trip, but I am going through a really rough time right now with Kama.

This blog is the most therapeutic outlet for me, so I must proceed in response to my varying flow of emotions.

As the time has come to journey over to pick up Kama's ashes, I can't stop thinking of our last moments together. I can't stop crying over these memories, but I do find comfort in releasing her from the grips of cancer.

I am posting these pictures, as I never want for them to get lost in the endless catalog of photos on my computer.

I want to be able to quickly reflect back to them at a moments notice. You may be able to tell by the quality, these were taken by me with my phone, and I am crying in every single one of them.

This was our very last picture together, as it was time to leave.

  1. Oh my gosh, I can't even imagine the hurt you are going through. These pictures are precious. They bring tears to my eyes because I know the power of a dog. I know how tightly they clench our hearts. They never judge, always love, and only have your very best intrest. She will always have a special place in your family - and remember... ALL dogs go to heaven. Sending only good thoughts your way. And remember, it's okay to cry.

  2. I know how hard it is. Keep letting out the sad emotions until happy thoughts of her only come to mind. It will happen, trust me.

  3. tears and tears for you, the pain will get better ove the years to where you can remember the good times and not cry over the bad, just be realistic it can be years and still be sooo hard.

  4. she didn't want to leave you. you can see it in her eyes, she knows the hurt you are feeling and she wanted to be your comfort

keep her in your heart forever more

  5. Your pictures made me cry. What a sweet dog. Love the soft yellow ears and those eyes. Hugs to you

  6. Awww Jen...she lived a grand life with you, and she knows she was loved! =)

  7. Oh Jen...these are powerful photos....precious....priceless....hugs!

  8. Aww, good for you to have and remember, so sorry Jen, but so grateful that Kama had you, Dave, Aviana and all of your family to love...and that you loved her enough, to let her go....wishing you a lighter journey, but so grateful that you got to love her so.

I do not comment as much as I used to, but i do pray for you, and follow your journey here. Peace

  9. <3 Oh Jen,

I cant even imagine what you're going through. Sending you all our love and prayers. Please let us know if there's anything we can do xoxo

  10. These are very touching photos. You two look so beautiful together. Kama looks very tired in these pictures, however. You can see it in her eyes. I think you made the most loving decision for her.

Thinking of you, wishing you peace.

  11. Oh Jen, my heart breaks for you. Although you can see that Kama knew it was her time to go, it's clear she also knew she was loved and she loved dearly in return. Some blog posts make me teary, some make me weepy, but very few bring out my out-loud, sobby, bawling cry. This one did. You can almost touch the devastated emotion in these photos. I hope they bring you healing as you struggle to cope. </3
