What's That You Say??

I forgot to include one of the most exciting things that happened last week. Aviana started making actual sounds within the past 5 days. These simple little noises are music to our ears!!

  1. Jen, I am catching up on the last week of blogs and, once again, I am so amazed at her progress. I can only imagine the emotional roller coaster you ride everyday. It is amazing the strength we hold inside and you are doing a marvelous job. Thank you for sharing.

  2. I am following Aviana's progress - you all are so strong! I can only offer prayers and good thoughts from way far away, but we do think about you all often. Awesome to hear little sounds!

  3. Jen I love to hear such good news about Avi. I can not wait to hear her sweet little voice again!!! It brings tears to my eyes to remember her say sarah push swing sarah push swing. Yes little miss sarah so wants to push swing again!!!! And I simply must mention that Aviana breakout is a much better name than the one I gave it. I think you are right we all possess a strength we don't know, even so, I still marvel at your ability to be what Aviana needs. Big hugs my cool as a cucumber friend.

  4. I'm Brenda's cousin, Frances Claassens, and I have lived in Roseville for 33 years. I have been following your blog since Yvonne called me and told me about the accident. I was a pharmaceutical sales representative who called on the teaching hospitals and my primary hospital was UC Davis and I am so happy Aviana is being cared for there. Because UCD is a teaching hospital, the latest procedures, the latest science is always practiced there, all the thought leaders, i.e., physicians and scientists are at UCD. You will always get cutting edge care there. When it is time to sign up for medical coverage renewal this year, is it possible to change from Kaiser to a PPO so that you could always keep Aviana under doctors who practice at UCD? or other private hospitals like Sutter? I know I am prejudiced but I was privileged to know and work among the best for 12 plus years. The attending physicians (the teachers) are the best in the world. I know Aviana is making great progress. Miracles happen every day with great medicine and prayer. I don't know you, Jen or Dave, but I know that both of you are the best parents Aviana could have. The will power that you say Aviana has will make a difference in her recovery. Never give up and you will be surprised in all her accomplishments.

  5. Jen, I recently met your mom and Gary after moving into their neighborhood. They relayed the horrific story of your precious baby girl. I have been hoping to run into them again so I could get an update and was so happy to see them again tonight. They gave me her name again so I did some searching and found your blog. How moving! I have to tell you that this is one adorable little dumpling. I was so very happy to hear of her progress and that she will be going home very soon. I am encouraged to think of how strong this little girl will be when this is all over. She is already showing her resilience just by surviving this ordeal. You seem to be holding up well which is crucial. I hope you know how supportive your mom and Gary are. They so obviously adore Aviana; it is heartwarming to hear them speak of her beauty and charm. God bless you and your family and may He continue to give you the strength to care for her and the peace of knowing that He is with you always. Jana Atkins
