Get This Tube Out Of My Nose....NOW!!!!

We are at the hospital right now and Aviana is trying with all her might to pull her feeding tube out of her nose. She has been so successful that the nurses had to tape a sock on her hand! She is relentless and even with the sock, she won't give up. We are thrilled to pieces as we sit here and watch her frustration....doesn't that sound awful? No, it sounds wonderfully promising!!

  1. Yikes...I am so concerned about your girl and your family that I just had to get caught up after being on vacation for 12 days. I am glad too that she is being fiesty. She's letting them know that she is awake, alert, and has opinions!!!!

  4. I smiled as I read that. Good for her and her fighting spirit. Lilysmom is right-those are definite purposeful moves!! I hope that spirit continues but she realizes that the tube is to help her for now.

  5. I am so sorry for the discomfort. We too had to make the decision to go from nasal tube to gastrostomy tube/button. Pleaes email if you have any questions, Rhonda

  6. I'd be doing the same thing. Next thing you'll know she'll start smacking the nurses hands away when they do things.

  7. Yay Avianna! So glad to hear that she cares! Wow, such a great sign! More frustration to come, I am sure, but very welcomed.
    Hang in there!
