I Do

** I wrote this back on February 23rd, and never posted it. I figured now would be a good time! **

Dave and I were married 10 years ago this coming June. We had  beautiful ceremony overlooking Lake Tahoe. I have always contemplated renewing our wedding vows at some point and time.  As we have progressed through this journey with Aviana, the desire to do just that has become greater and greater.

One of my old friends posted some pictures of where he and his wife had gotten married, and I wondered why I had never seen this particular place after all of my searching. I looked the place up and it all made perfect sense when I saw where it was located, South Lake Tahoe.

I am speaking for myself when I say this, but in my opinion, South Lake Tahoe is absolutely nothing like North Lake Tahoe. I am from North Lake Tahoe, and in my 25 year old brain there was not one second of consideration to marry on the other side. You know when rappers talk about East Side vs. West Side. Well that sums up how I feel about the North Side vs. the South side. Them are fightin' words ;o)

Now that I have fallen in love with this particular place, coupled with everything we are continuing through with Aviana, the desire to renew our wedding vows has deepened. I'll show you what I mean...

I had been reflecting back on our wedding day.

I was messing around one day, in all my spare time, and had decided on my maid of honor, but had to see if she was up for the challenge. It didn't seem so at first, because she was chasing the train of my dress, pulling it, and chewing on it. I tried to explain that paw prints, and wedding dresses don't go hand in hand. She didn't understand why not. I thought she would surely pull me right down. As we all know, I have a hard enough time staying upright on my own two feet as it is.

She laid down, and contemplated.

After a few moments, she began to think she could do it.

She's saying, "Mommy, I think I can."

She then stood up, and knew she was the perfect one for the job.

We will not be doing this anytime soon, as we do not have the money, but it is fun to think about.

  1. Valhalla Estate looks gorgeous. Mallery and Jason took a cruise out there one day and walked around. Your dress still looks awesome on you, too!
