Unbelievable

It amazes me how the simple act of calling about having our vacuum serviced can end in heartache.

For years, the Kirby repair shop has been on a street called Cirby Way. In 10 years, we have only been there one time, but always knew where it was. Today I called, and they have since moved.

"To where I innocently asked?"

She answered back, "We are on Harding Blvd. now, do you know where the Big Lots is? We are right across the street, next to the Oriental Market. Do you know where that is?"

"Yes, I know exactly where that is."

My parents had just come out of Big Lots, and had decided to walk across the street to the new Oriental Market.

That is the exact location where our lives changed forever....

  1. Oh Jen...what are the chances of that? Something so innocent can be so cruel and heartbreaking.

  2. That is seriously crazy. You must have turned white with those words. I am so sorry that you had to be reminded of that location, especially when you were least expecting it.

I am still giving you a BIG hug~I never stopped.

  3. It's the little things isn't it? I stopped going to the new dentist we had because I had been there two days before her accident. It just flooded back and I couldn't handle it. Sometimes a little thing will crop up and I will remember that moment. That day. Hugs, my friend.

  4. Jen I'm so sorry. It is so hard for even us to go by that spot. I can't imagine what goes through your head. If you ever need help, please call me. (Or hugs, or coffee, or someone to talk to even.)

  6. Maybe you should put something beautiful there to remind everyone that good can come out of evil.

To make that spot something else other than it is now .... to make it 'better' just like you are making Aviana 'better' now...
