I don't believe in karma.....anymore. I used to but then I see people I love (you included) suffering more than any of the evil people I know of could ever fear, well, I believe life is a crapshoot and it's a toss up as to which end of the stick we get.
If I looked at life from a karma stand point, I think I must have been Genghis Khan in a past life. One of my cousins suggested that I am getting the suffering over with now so that I can enjoy my life in heaven. I was raised Baptist and I'm not really sure how either fit in, but I still believe God works in mysterious ways.
Not that I'd ever tell someone "Oh, your life is like that because God wanted it that way." That's a punch in the back. For me, though, holding out hope that there is some grand scheme makes it a little easier.
