Mickey Countdown

No, we are not going to Disneyland, but we are going somewhere just as exciting! At 11 am tomorrow Aviana will be at Kaiser getting her huge g-tube converted into a nice streamlined Mickey button. Woo hoo, there will be no lengthy tube hanging out her cute little outfits!! Can you tell I am so excited about this! The things I get overly excited about now always amaze me :o)

  1. That is great! I bet she'll be a lot more comfortable with the little button, and there isn't a chance it'll come out as easily.

  3. Remember I was telling you we got one disclosure meeting with that last agency? The little girl we were trying to adopt had a mickey button. It was for an entirely different reason, but she seemed to be very comfortable with it.

  5. I am so with you sister!!! My son has the Bard button, mickey doesn't work for him because of the circumferemce of the button. Thinking of you and please know you can email me at ANY time and I'll be happy to answer questions based on our experience. Jason is now 24 ywars old, has had a tube/button since he was five weeks old. He is doing awesome!!!!

  8. I loved when Brian got his Mickey button. He actually pulled out the other one. His foster parents woke to him one night laughing and saw him swinging it around....yikes! That was his only means of food. They drove 1.5 hours to St. Louis to meet us and have a new g-button put in. What a blessing, no long tube.

They tend to leak over time too. We quickly learned how to change them and always kept a spare on hand to change when the little balloon inside breaks and stomach acids start to leak. Be sure to ask for an extra and for them to teach you how to change it.

Hugs to you and beautiful Aviana!
