Green Evader

St. Patrick's Day ritual:

~ Go to bed thinking of what green outfit Aviana and I will be wearing for the occasion.

~ Wake up and put the well planned out green ensemble on.

I live for all holidays, this one is no exception. This year I feel I have lost a piece of myself. I did not plan our outfits and I am not wearing green! What is the St. Patty's Day equivalent of Bah Humbug....I don't know, but insert that here _____________!

I think it has something to do with this:

She had her own idea about the outfit, she thought my socks were the perfect finishing touch!

Geez, it's just a color right?  Get over it! It has nothing to do with the little girl or Zoe the cat!

  1. OK Jen- I am Irish and I didn't wear green today either- I did wear shamrock socks though!! I love the picture of Aviana and her outfit choice- yes the socks did make quite a statement! She and my daughter (who is from Guatemala as well!) share that same adorable round face! Keep your chin up- remember there's a "pot of gold" at the end of your rainbow!!! Keeping you in our prayers and sending you some hugs too!!

Thank you so much for your comment. Your reference to the "pot of gold" put a huge smile on both Dave and my face :-)

  3. Jen - Emma thinks my socks are the best accessory, too. I have a couple pairs of old soccer socks that go all the way up to her but, and she loves them. :)

  4. Okay. I admit it. I am already teary tonight because I'm feeling sentimental about my granddaughter's 16th birthday tomorrow. Then I came to your blog and saw your St. Paddy's day post and the pictures of Avi, and I want to be all cheery and uplifting and I'm trying but honestly, I just want to selfishly allow myself one moment to stamp my feet and swear really loud and just be p'd off about the accident that transformed the old Avi into the new Avi. She is so beautiful and so loved and so heartfully appreciated and prayed for. And all of those things- they apply equally to you, Jenn. Two brave girls, going forward together. You and your family are in my prayers, no matter what colour you're wearing!

  5. Thank you wy-not! I too, just sometimes want to throw my hands up and stomp the floor one million times. It is sometimes just too much to bear and positivity and optimism slip away momentarily. In those moments I just want to be mad and not have anyone try to stop me or "fix" it!

Thank you for joining me in my boat! Thank you for your comments, I always look forward to them. Thank you for being there for me!
