Through the Heart

I have to stop by and say, I loved hearing all of the stories which lead you to your little Guat Tot.

What a worthwhile process! Even with all of the hangups and setbacks. I must also not forget about the kick outs from the place that we hold so near and dear to our hearts....PGN! Did you sense the astronomical amount of sarcasm pouring from my lips as I spoke of them?!?

Thank you so much for sharing. To all of my Guatemalan adoptees, I think you can appreciate this next picture!

  2. With Marco we were only in PGN for 10 days. With Dulce we got kicked out twice, then shutdown, etc, etc, etc. I do vividly remember waiting for our referral for Marco. I was actually in Target when our SW called and said well isn't he adorable..and I said what and she said your baby boy..I sent you his pictures about an hour ago. I left the cart in the middle of the aisle and flew home to see his pictures. It was such a rollercoaster but so worth it all!

  5. Such a perfect picture to convey the perfect message. I have to send you a picture of lily that her foster mom took while she was in Guatemala. They look so similiar to the pictures you posted.

  6. I cried both times I got the 'out of PGN call.' The words every Guatemalan adoptive mommy and daddy want to hear. The reality just sinks in.

  8. I waited for this to make up for the "we are pregnant" that never came, but we were there on our 4th visit trip when PGN told me we were out! called my facilitator who told me we were kicked out (it had been 11 weeks) so as the story goes it went on for another 8 months, by the time we got a kind of call, that exciting reaction I had hoped for was not quite there, it was but it wasn't I had been living there too long and I didn't believe anything told to me, so it was completely unreal until I finally got to the airport and saw my car, then it was finally more real.

  9. Um...Can I ask a question that perhaps some other people would also like to know...? I don't know...maybe I missed something...but...

What in the heck is PGN? Is that kind of like Escrow but for adoption?? Like "closing Escrow" or something?

    Thanks! =)

  11. That photo brought happy tears to my eyes! We didn't do anything special after the first time we were out of PGN because we also found out that day that we needed to leave in two days to pick up our son (thanks to our agency not telling us for two weeks that we were out of PGN). For our second adoption, I went to the store and got a cake to surprise my husband with. I told the lady to write "Adios PGN!" on it, only she wrote "Adious PGN!" I thought it was so funny that I didn't tell her to fix it.
